Health articles everywhere talk about swine flu. Women’s health issues are mostly about mammography and breast cancer risks today and swine flu seems to be taking a back seat.
The Center For Disease Control and Prevention is reporting a resurgence of swine flu in at least 21 states. Health articles say, and the CDC confirms, kids are bearing the brunt of it. Dr. Mark Moyad, M.D., Director of Preventative and Alternative Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, says swine flu is hospitalizing a lot of young people.
Do health care articles arm you with the know-how you need? We at www.Hormones-Beauty-Health.com researched several health articles and found, to help prevent the flu for yourself and your child, pour a glass of orange juice. Orange juice gets its protective powers from vitamin C. Dr. Moyad says, OJ can reduce flu risk by up to 85% by boosting the body’s immune cell production and counteracting stress responses. |

Health articles also confirm gargling daily with lukewarm water is another easy way to stay healthy. Gargling removes infectious cells that congregate at the back of the mouth.

If symptoms appear, a recent series of health articles say it is good to eat dark honey. The dark honey prevents coughing and helps sleep better then taking medication. Honey coats the throat and has an anti-microbial action that speeds healing. Also, serving chicken soup supports blocking white blood cells that would otherwise prolong symptoms.
Health articles from Israel suggest, during recovery, eating yogurt, which reduces the risk of getting another infection. Yogurt is packed with healthy microbes that shore-up a weakened immune system. Also, it’s critical to stay bundled when exposed to the cold. Being cold, it’s found, reduces the body’s defenses, particularly reducing circulation of immune cells.
Using Tamiflu as a preventative may be problematic as it can promote the growth of flu strains that are resistant to the drug. Zinc lozenges are also risky as studies show they can damage human taste receptors.
In summary, the latest health articles show swine flu complications are more common among obese kids then slimmer kids. Body fat contains higher levels of inflammatory interleukins, which distract the immune system from its real job. Overweight kids with flu symptoms should be seen by a doctor promptly.
